The Importance of a Healthy Liver
It’s obvious a healthy liver is essential for optimum health. On this site we will explain how the liver plays a vital role in blood circulation, weight loss, efficiency of all of our organs, and ways we can keep the liver operating at peak efficiency. Knowing the proper ways of detoxifying the liver is important, but understanding the importance of the liver and how to care for it on a daily basis will be the theme of this site.
Differentiating Between a Detox Diet and Detox Cleanse
A proper detoxification diet is one that we should maintain on a long-term basis. This will allow the body to heal itself, and maintain a preventive maintenance system so the liver will remain healthy. Click here to find some the liver cleansing foods that will go into a proper liver detox diet to keep in functioning at its optimum level.
But occasionally the liver falls into serious disrepair, and this can come through a number of internal and environmental issues. Then it may become necessary for body detox, which is a more intense flushing of the liver. This puts much more stress on the entire body, and is a procedure that shouldn’t be taken lightly. On this site we will talk about things to be careful of and procedures that can be taken.
Furthermore we will provide information on areas such as the gall bladder, blood circulation issues, along with insulin resistance that are all important to a well-functioning liver. Everything we will talk about will involve the need for not just a healthy diet, but regular exercise. We feel that is the foundation for a healthy existence for everyone.
Why a Healthy Liver is Necessary?
The liver is one of our largest organs, and one our hardest working. It performs over five hundred different process in the course of a day, some of which are:
- Maintaining levels of blood sugar.
- Filtering out chemicals and removing toxins from the blood.
- Helping digest food and turning it into energy.
These are three major functions of the liver that we will spend time discussing and providing information on. When we were young, our liver operated at near optimum levels, but as we got older it became more clogged and less efficient, like any filter will become.
The liver is very resilient, and it just keeps on working with little or no pain. But it doesn’t have the same efficiency it once had. When it does become less efficient, one of the first jobs it postpones is its metabolizing and eliminating fats. Since fats on a short-term basis are not life-threatening, they pass into storage, usually around the waste.
What Can We Expect When Detoxifying the Liver?
I have gone through the detoxification process, and here are some observations I’ll pass along that may help if you are considering detoxing:
- Follow the directions. The body will be put under a great deal of stress, so give it ample opportunity to recover.
- I did it over a long weekend, and didn’t feel great when the toxins were being purged. Schedule it during your down-time.
- Be sure you’re healthy when you start. If you are already fighting health issues, your body might not be ready to take on detoxing.
- You will be well-rewarded. In my case I had greater energy levels, my general health, including almost eliminating nagging colds, was greatly improved. For me this lasted about two to three years.
I really do believe in the detoxification process, but it is not to be taken lightly. However, a detox diet should be standard procedure for everyone. As the Mayo Clinic states, “Without your liver, you couldn’t digest food and absorb nutrients, get rid of toxic substances from your body or stay alive.” On these pages we will provide information for you to make the best choices on how to maintain a healthy liver.
